As part of the development of the Hipples II wind park, CES was commissioned by Senvion, acting as the general contractor, to provide a comprehensive package of engineering and construction-related services. The project involved the construction of two wind turbines of the type Senvion MM100, each featuring a hub height of 100 meters and a steel tower structure, with Windkraft Simonsfeld AG serving as the project operator.
CES was responsible for the preparation of detailed tender documents for the wind turbine foundation system, including technical specifications and bill of quantities necessary for procurement and contractor selection. The goal was to ensure a robust and cost-effective foundation design aligned with both the structural requirements of the turbines and the geotechnical conditions of the site.
During the construction phase, CES provided on-site supervision of all foundation works, including excavation, reinforcement placement, concrete pouring, and quality control. This active presence ensured compliance with design standards, adherence to the project schedule, and resolution of any technical issues arising on site.
In addition, CES undertook the role of safety coordinator for the entire construction period, covering both the foundation construction and the erection of the wind turbines up to the point of commissioning. Responsibilities included the development and enforcement of safety protocols, coordination between contractors and subcontractors, and ensuring regulatory compliance in line with Austrian construction and occupational safety standards.
Through this integrated support, CES contributed to the successful and safe realization of the Hipples II wind park, enhancing the region’s renewable energy capacity with high-quality engineering and construction oversight.
