The objective of the project was to assist IFC in delivering advisory support to the city of Zaporizhzhia, including advising on technology selection and review of the technical design documents for the street lighting infrastructure upgrades to be procured by the city of Zaporizhzhia; Provision of the recommendations along the procurement process to ensure competitive and transparent procurement of equipment, software, and related works and services for the associated project.
In October 2019, IFC and the City of Zaporizhzhia signed an agreement to develop and implement a Smart City investment program, which includes, among other things, the financing for energy-efficient LED street lighting and related intelligent control systems. Zaporizhzhia city authorities are planning to improve the sustainability and quality of public lighting by replacing the inefficient and outdated technology bulbs with energy-efficient LED technology and by introducing a technical capability for street lighting intelligent control system.
