Lviv, Ukraine – Pollution Mitigation Programme: Investment Plan Development

The objective of the assignment was to prepare customized and bankable investment plans for local private enterprises in Lviv which would improve the financial standing of the companies, and at the same time secure a positive environmental impact as compared with the existing baseline for water and climate pollution. Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO) is an international financial institution established by the five Nordic countries. NEFCO was considering loan financing of a row of “green projects” related to improving industrial waste water treatment and increasing energy efficiency at private enterprises being customers to Lviv Vodokanal. Lviv Vodokanal is a water utility company located in the city of Lviv in Western Ukraine supplying drinking water and treating waste water. In order to support this initiative CES was entrusted with the task of development of bankable investment plans for 5 local enterprises (food & beverages industry, pharma industry, and textile industry).
