At the Grafendorf compressor station, the Distant Transmission Operator “Trans Austria Gasleitung GmbH” intended to start another phase of deconstruction works of outdated gas turbines and natural gas compressors under the NOXER2 project. In Baumgarten station, the structures to be demolished are the C-400 related part of compressor hall as well as the Workshop wing of the supply building. After the already performed mechanical dismantling of selected installations and structures of the Compressor Hall, contaminated material has been intermediately stored in a dedicated TCF area outside the station, and was ready to be treated. The works to be supervised comprise the separation of hazardous materials (mainly ceramic fiber wool) and extraneous material (rock wool etc.) from steel scrap under specific Health & Safety measures and according to the Austrian Workers Protection Legislation and Waste Legislation. Furthermore, minor ACM deposits needed to be treated.

CES performed the Chemical Site supervision of deconstruction and pollutant abatement works at both locations. The scope of the Chemical Site Supervisor is meant to provide expertise to conduct deconstruction in full compliance with Austrian legislation regarding Health, Safety, and Environment.
