  • St. Pölten and Pischelsdorf, Austria – EVN Dürnrohr: Upgrade of the district heating supply system

Installation of a new steam boiler within a new boiler house and integration of the boiler into the existing steam system in order to guarantee the highest possible flexibility and security of supply during all operating scenarios of the Dürnrohr Power Plant. Planning and construction of a steam pipeline.

The EVN AG operates at the location Dürnrohr, a Coal/Gas power plant, with a maximum capacity of 352 MW. Steam from the medium pressure system (48bar, 380°C) of the power plant was extracted to ensure the district heating supply of the City of St. Pölten and the industrial site of AGRANA in Pischelsdorf. The security of supply was achieved through a new gas-fired steam boiler (80t/h) and a new steam pipeline to the AGRANA location in Pischelsdorf.
