Georgia – Due Diligence for Mtkvari 46,4 MW Hydro Power Plant

For the 46 MW hydro power plant Mtkvari, under construction near the city of Akhaltsikhe in the southeast Georgia, the consortium Denkstatt GmbH and CES were awarded a contract by Black Sea Trade and Development Bank and Oesterreichische Entwicklungsbank AG (OeEB) to prepare a due diligence review and a project risk assessment.

JSC Caucasus Energy & Infrastructure and Mtkvari HPP LLC were constructing a run-of-river hydro power plant on the Mtkvari river. CES checked its technical feasibility and on the basis of a financial model, tariffs were calculated and the project’s economic performance was presented.
