La Kadischa, Lebanon – Hydro Power Plant Cascade

La Kadicha – Société Anonyme d’Electricité du Liban Nord (Sal) operates in the Nahr Abou Ali Basin (Qadisha Valley, Mount Lebanon) four hydropower plants with 21.3 MW total installed capacity. The operator was pursuing the rehabilitation and modernization of the plants, built in the years 1928 to 1961.

La Kadischa is a valley app. 20 km southeast of Tripoli. Within the years 1928 and 1961, 4 Small Hydro Power Plants have been constructed. Although the generating units are in working conditions the power stations need to be rehabilitated and upgraded to state-of-the-art technology.

Consultancy services for the technical assessment of the power plants, turbines, generators and plant accessories, analysis of the available hydrological data, identification of required technical modifications, evaluation of the estimated benefits of the rehabilitation/modernization works, and providing cost estimates. Drawing up technical specifications and preparing tender documents for the new E and M equipment.
